FINAL PROJECT : POST PRODUCTION & PROFILING

Week13: Progression on 3D Building

First of all, I created the general shape and structure of the vehicle, and then delved deeper and made further improvements on this basis.

After that, I discovered some structural issues, such as the cab being too flat and the position of the angular protrusions at the front end being incorrect. I began to make initial revisions.

After that, I continued to delve into the shape and details of my vehicle. I adjusted the size of the rear wheels because the original ones might not be able to ensure the balance of the vehicle.

After completing this series of modifications, I exported the renderings of the colorless vehicle model.

Week 14: Coloring
For the color of my vehicle model, I chose a tan as the main color because the worldview I designed is similar to a post-apocalyptic wasteland style. Therefore, based on this worldview, I prefer to design the vehicle in a color style that resembles rust on metal.

To better fit this style, I also added rusted metal material to the car body, which gives it a more weathered look.

Fig14.2 Preliminary coloring

After completing the basic coloring, I felt that the color of the tire part was similar to that of the car body, which didn't make sense. So I decided to change the color of the tire. I chose dark brownish gray and black as the colors for the rims and tires respectively.

After completing all these, I exported the renderings of my final effect and set them as PNG images, as this makes it easier to place them on my display board.

FEEDBACK
week13
Pay attention to the lights in your interior cab. Some of them can be cut off. Then continue to complete your modeling.

REFLECTION
Experience
The entire design process was a challenging yet highly valuable journey for me. From the very beginning of the initial sketch conception, I have been trying to combine functionality with visual style. However, in the actual progress, I found that many ideas were not easy to implement in modeling or later visual presentation. Especially when entering the Photoshop rendering and 3D presentation stage, I began to realize that detail handling and the atmosphere of light and shadow are crucial for strengthening the design language. Every step requires continuous attempts, modifications and self-questioning. But it is precisely through these repetitions that I have gradually established a more comprehensive understanding of the logic of vehicle design.

Observation
I have observed that relying solely on inspiration and concepts is far from enough. The biggest challenge throughout the entire process is how to "persist and advance", especially when facing the stage of stuck thinking, unsatisfactory results and tight time. I began to learn to find solutions in difficult situations, such as referring to existing works, breaking down design cases, or exchanging opinions with teachers. This process was also one of my continuous learning and progress. Although it was very bumpy, looking back on the entire journey, I still gained a lot.

Findings
After going through the entire project process, my greatest gain is that design is not achieved in one step, but is a continuous process of trial and error and adjustment. Many parts that I thought were "final drafts" only took shape during the later revisions. Every challenge during the process has prompted me to think more deeply about the "why" and "how" of design. I have found that being willing to accept difficulties, confront problems head-on, and distill solutions from them is the core of the growth of design ability. At the same time, I would like to express my gratitude to this project for allowing me to experience a phased breakthrough from confusion to clarity. It has made me understand that a good work is not just about completion; it is also about being "polished" out.
